Choosing the right nicotine strength is a personal choice. Generally, heavy smokers (20+ Cigarettes a day) will require much higher Nicotine strengths compared to a casual or light smoker.
Below is a rough guide:
- 20+ Cigarettes a day - 12 - 18mg
- 10+ Cigarettes a day - 6 - 12mg
- <10 Cigarettes a day - 3mg
This is based on using a standard pen-style ecig - more powerful ecigs will not require as much nicotine as they deliver significantly more nicotine vapour - giving you more from each puff.
If you get a strength that is too strong for you, it can make you cough.
